It may have been a labour of love renovating the Granary into a holiday cottage but it was also hard work. What better reward than, as our first year draws to an end, we are awarded not only with 4 stars again but also with a Gold award for exceptional quality of accommodation and service.

We have taken great pride in all the good comments from our guests added to which we have enjoyed meeting them all very much.

As we go through the colder months, the Granary has a lot to offer for a short break. Loads of events in and around Carlisle, such as the Fire Show on the 7th of November, the Christmas Lights and the Christmas Markets from the 2nd of December for a week. Excellent shows from comedians to classical music. Carlisle is a Christmas shopping delight and we are less than an hours drive from other great shopping places, Penrith, Keswick and Gretna Gateway outlet village.

Autumn and Winter is a great time to appreciate the beauty of the North Lakes without the crowds of the summer season. If you don't want to be out and about much and just want a totally cosy and relaxing break, the romantic atmosphere in the Granary is just perfect for that.

Book at the Granary for either of these weeks and on your arrival, there will be a Christmas tree, there will be Champagne, there will be mince pies, all this and a £40 gift voucher to spend in Marks and Spencer as a Happy Christmas from us to you.
